Mrs. Rita Dey

Mrs. Reta Dey has an overall professional experience of 30 years in social development issues and about 20 years in conducting Social Impact Assessment, Socio-Economic Studies, resettlement and rehabilitation and Surveys, assessment and preparation of Land Acquisition Plans for infrastructure development projects in the Water, Energy, Roads and Highways sectors. Her expertise also lies in Policy Formulation and Designing Plans, Monitoring and Evaluation.

She has been involved in preparation of Community Action Plans and their implementation for several projects. Some of these projects covered issues such as Reproductive health concerns of rural women, Leadership and management skills of senior and middle level functionaries of the Government and Civil Society Organizations. Implications of the ESMF Provisions, Water Sanitation and the need for community participation. Dr. Singh has undertaken assessment/review of feasibility stage and detailed design stage documents pertaining to infrastructure projects, for devising ways for better implementation techniques of such projects. She has also successfully performed role as an M&E Consultant for implementation of many such projects.

She worked in different countries like India, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Cyprus, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Spain, Cambodia, Vanuatu.


Dr. Sharmila Singh

Dr. Sharmila Singh has an overall professional experience of 20 years in social development issues and about 10 years in conducting Social Impact Assessment, Socio-Economic Studies and Surveys, assessment and preparation of Land Acquisition Plans for infrastructure development projects in the Water, Energy, Roads and Highways sectors. Her expertise also lies in Policy Formulation and Designing Plans, Monitoring and Evaluation Dr. Sharmila Singh has a Ph.D in social sciences and a post graduate degree in education and Social work and has been involved in issues related to social assessment for development projects currently undergoing in India and in Bangladesh. She also has experience of working in Thailand. She has been working on development projects related to leadership and management issues. She has experience of designing & testing of survey questionnaires and conducting field surveys in Uttar Pradesh. She has designed and conducted trainings in the field of health and hygiene, HIV-AIDS etc. At present she is also involved as guest faculty in the department of Social work, Criminology and Criminal Justice Administration (CCJA) and Population education and Rural Development (PERD) at the Lucknow University. She was the project coordinator for the Suraksha-SIFPSA project has been actively been associated with CHETNA and Vani-Prada, schools for children with special needs.

Conversant with guidelines of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, NOVIB, EU, USAID, JICA, kfw, UNICEF, The Government of India and various state government guidelines on policies pertaining to Resettlement & Rehabilitation of involuntarily displaced population. Has been involved in conducting Focus Group Discussions with different vulnerable groups of affected population (like women, backward castes, etc.), and in conducting Participatory and Consultation Meetings with affected population.


Mr. Vineet Pandey

With Masters in Social Science Mr Pandey has diversified experience of SIA, RAP, R&R, and other socio-economic issues. He has more than 10 years experience in Carry out socio-economic and cultural analysis to identify potential impacts on the immediate habitations; Conducted land Acquisition Survey and prepared Land Acquisition Plans as per LA Act 1894 and NHAI LA Act 1956; identify stakeholders and screen social development issues and ensure that the results of the SA provides inputs for monitoring and evaluation for the project outcomes at the completion. Prepared Social Impact Assessment report, Feasibility report, and Poverty analysis, presenting the mitigation measures to the PAPs during public meeting and preparation of RAP. He has given input to more than 25 projects.
He has worked in Infrastructure, Highways, Mining, Energy, and Area development projects.


Mr. Deepak Malik

Mr. Deepak Malik has around 21 years of Professional experience of addressing environmental issues in various infrastructure Development Projects in the field of Urban Development, Highways, Expressways, Railways, Tunnels, Airports, Hydro Electric Power, Power Transmission & Distribution Projects and Modernization of Irrigation System, Dam Safety & Water Bodies Restoration Projects Funded by multilateral financial institutions such as World Bank, Asian Development Bank, JICA etc. Mr. Malik holds a valid Indian Passport, valid International Yellow Card and has vast exposure of working in African and Indian Sub-Continent.

Mr. Malik is an approved Environmental Coordinator under EIA accreditation scheme for Airports, Highways, Railways and Mass Transit Systems from Quality Council of India, Government of India. He is also an approved Chartered Engineer from The Institution of Engineers (India). He is also a Member of Indian Roads Congress and member of Environment Committee of Indian Roads Congress, which formulates guidelines for road development in India.

He is well versed with World Banks Operational Policies and guidelines - OP 4.01 Environmental Assessment; OP 4.02 Environmental Action Plans; OP 4.04 Natural Habitats and OP 4.36 Forests. He is also well versed with ADB’s Environment Policy (2002); Environmental Assessment Guidelines (2003) and ADB’s Safeguard Policy Statement (2009). Good knowledge about IFC's Sustainability Framework and Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability. He has worked as Environmental Safeguard Specialist on Highway Projects and Electric Power Transmission & Distribution Projects funded by Asian Development Bank.

Mr. Malik has vast experience in carrying out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) relating to infrastructure development projects and preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP). He is an approved air modeler and is well versed with various air dispersion modelling softwares CALPUFF, AERMOD & CALROAD and with latest Indian Environmental Legislations and had obtained various clearance viz. Environmental, Forest, Wildlife and CRZ Clearances from Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India for number of Projects. Identification and analysis of risk and preparation of Onsite & Offsite Emergency Management Plan and Disaster Management Plan. Mr. Malik has also vast experience in formulating and implementation of HSE plans on large Construction Supervision projects.


Mr. Mayank Kumar

Tech. in Environmental Science and Engineering with more than 15 years of experience in the study of Environmental impact assessment in petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Highways, infrastructure, and power sector. He has substantial experience of project management and construction supervision of area development, infrastructure, Highways and power projects funded by World bank, JICA, IFC, and Asian Development bank. Worked for more than 20 international funded projects of World bank, JICA, IFC and Asian development bank as well as apex national bodies like MoUD, Central pollution control board, IOCL, IPPL, HMEL, BPCL, Cairn Energy, ONGC, State governments, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, National Highway Authority of India and state PWDs. He has handled more than 50 EIA clearances of Chemical and Fertilizers, Coal bed methane, gas pipeline, and Petrochemical projects, Industrial Areas, housing above industries and contributed in more than 40 EIA clearances of Airports, Hydropower, Highways, Construction and Area development. He has handled more than 100 compliance linked environmental monitoring, sampling and analysis, Air and water quality analysis and treatment options, Pollution control system analysis and Environmental Audit.

Mr. Shahzad Siddiqui

Mr. Ankit Singh

Mr. Ankit Singh has more than 8 years experience in Maintains accurate database contents, including completing regular quality checks on database assuring accurate information, uploading/downloading information regularly, overseeing creation and maintenance of data onto MIS systems, creating and running data integrity checks and undertaking appropriate follow up action, and ensuring maintenance of files in Track One and other databases. Mr. Manish Shukla has more than 9 years experience in devising methods and procedures for obtaining data, understanding various sampling techniques that may be used to conduct different types of surveys; creating, as well as using, various econometric modelling techniques to develop forecasts; understanding and interpreting data; analysing data to test the effectiveness of current policies, products or services and advising on the suitability of alternative courses of action and the allocation of scarce resources; explaining research methodology and justifying conclusions drawn from research data; providing economic advice to a range of stakeholders; evaluating past and present economic issues and trends; writing various technical and non-technical reports on economic trends and forecasts to inform the press and public; delivering numerous oral and visual presentations, which non-economist audiences must be able to understand thoroughly in order to inform decisions.

Dr. Ashish Rawat

  • - PhD, Forestry (Forest Ecology and Environment)

An Ecologist by training, Dr. Ashish Rawat has extensively worked on the Bioengineering of Landslides in the Himalayan Region of Uttarakhand. He attained his Doctoral Degree in Forestry (Forest Ecology & Environment) from the esteemed Forest Research Institute, Indian Council of Forestry Research & Education, Dehradun (an Autonomous Body of Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India), which is the biggest and foremost Institute for Forestry Research & Education in South-East Asia. Dr. Rawat has an in-depth knowledge of the ecological restoration of derelict mined lands and such other degraded habitats. He has carried out Comprehensive work in the Northern and the Eastern Part of the country viz., Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Bihar and Orissa, where he has worked on various mining (Uranium, Iron Ore, Rock Phosphate and Limestone) and degraded habitats (landslides, barren lands).

Dr. Rawat has also carried out extensively worked on the Environmental Impact Assessment of Road & Highways, Mining and Construction projects across the country and abrade funded by stemmed agency such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank etc. His interests include Bioengineering of Landslides, Biodiversity Conservation and Management, Reduction Emission from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD), Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Disaster Mitigation and Management, Rehabilitation/Reclamation of Degraded Lands, Natural Resource Management and Environmental Impact Assessment and Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Projects such as Roads, Highways, Mining and Construction Projects.
